PARTIAL LISTING of TOMBS IN ST. MARY'S GRAVEYARD, THURLES

(1). Miss Cath. Pollick alias Kenny died 4 Feb. 1780.

(2). John Pitman died 7 Jan. 1791, aged 83, R.I.P. Amen.

(3). Mr. Ignatuis Browne died 28 Jan. 1783, aged 74, R.I.P.

(4). John Carroll of Drish died 1 Feb. 1701, aged 80; his grandson Patrick
Carroll of Moycarkey Castle, died 6 Dec. 1801, aged 98; also Anne Carroll
alias Ryan &Patrick Carroll of Moycarkey Castle, who d. 1 Oct. 1808, aged
73.

(5).  Miss Anne O'Brien dau. of Mr Denis O'Brien of Thurles d. 15 Sept.
1770, in 19th year of her age. Denis O'Brien of Thurles d. 31 Dec. 1780.

(6). John Maher Esq. of Tullamaine Castle, to memory of his brother
Valentine Maher Esq., who d. 25 Dec. 1843, in 6th year of his age. Above
John Maher d. 9 Dec. 1850, in 76th year of his age.

(7). Rev. Nicholas Morris, p. priest of Loughmore who departed this life
the 15th of June 1795, aged 58 years. May his soul rest in peace Amen".

(8). Rev. Francis Garret, 38 years Rector of Union of Thurles died 19 Mar.
1813, in his 88th year, erected by his widow Catherine

(9) John Matthew d. 16 Jan. 1827, in his 66th year. His wife Elizabeth died
15 July 1842, aged 68

(10) Thos. Ryan of Thurles d. 31 July 1818, aged 71. His son John d. Apr. 6
1793, aged 17. His son Jeremiah d. 14 Aug. 1805, aged 20. His dau. Johanna
d. 27 Jan. 1818, aged 22. His daughter Anne d 13 Nov. 1821, aged 32. His
wife Cath d Jan 1833, aged 81 years. His son Thos. of Rathmanna d. 17 May
1835. Wm. Ryan, son to said Thos. Ryan of Thurles, d. 29 July 1841, aged
65. Mgt. sister of above Thos. Ryan &widow of Thos. Coramack of Clonmel
died 1849, &her daughter Bridget wife of Daniel Laffan solicitor, Cashel,
died 1853. John Ryan of Corbally d. 6 Aug. 1895, aged 63.

(11). Maurice Rd. Leyne,

Inscription on Tombstone:- "He whose virtues deserve a temple can now
scarcely find a stone. In this grave are deposited the remains of Maurice
Richard Leyne Esq., who died 29th June 1854. This stone has been placed
over him by a few humble admirers of his great virtues &talents to preserve
his memory until a competent hand shall write his epitaph and a more
grateful and generous people regard his merits. May his soul rest in peace.
Amen."

(12). Maher Vault. Nicholas Valentine Maher of Turtulla died Oct. 18th
1871.
