OLD FAMILIES
Boyd
Doonan MaGuire Foster Geoghegan
Graham McNeil O'Cahan O'Kane
O'Connor O'Donnell O'Mullan McCloskey
O'Hegarty O'Corr McGurk McRory
O'Diamond McCrilly McGilligan O'Derry
McColgan

Please provide all of the information you know about these surnames. The O is clearly old Gaelic/Irish while the Mc could have several roots including Dane or even Norman, though they appear to substantially predate the Normans of  1100 AD era and the Danes of 800 AD era in Ireland.

Some Celtic and other ancient clans were here since recorded history; see them named in old records like The Annuls of the Four Masters. Still others came from Wales, Scotland and England during the plantation periods of the 1600's. Find their names scattered throughout old English records. If your Derry family was here a long time and if you have some of their records, please submit them here.

I found cousins and I hope you can too.
