21st Regimental Hospital Sunday Evening 17 June 1838
I Cr Serjeant Paul Carmody 21st Regt do hereby constitute 
this my last Will and Testament revoking all others My 
Effects and Credits I wish to be distributed in the 
following manner viz an equal distribution between the 
following persons 1st My Wife Elizabeth residing in the 
Parish of New Ross County of Wexford Ireland 2nd my Daughter 
Ellen by a former Wife which Daughter is or was residing in 
Mullingar 3rd My Son Patrick by my 2nd Wife Elizabeth 
residing in the former Parish (New Ross) 4 My Mother Eleanor 
residing in the Parish of Kilmurry Mac Mahon in the County 
of Clare In the event of any of the forenamed persons being 
dead I wish the share of that person or persons to be fairly 
distributed amongst the surviving persons Paul X Carmody 
Color Serjeant 21 Regiment Edwd Pilkington Surgeon 21st 
Regiment Witness James Fitzgerald A Serjeant  21st Regiment

I declare that I was present at the execution of this Will 
and that Color Serjeant Paul Carmody 21st Regiment was in a 
fit state of mind to execute the same Edwd Pilkington 
Surgeon 21st Regiment Military Hospital 17th June 1838 
(Personal Appearance by William Anderson of His Majesty's 
War Office re Paul Carmody late of Hobart Town New South 
Wales 1 April 1839)
