TROY, NEE LEAHY, ELLEN 1912

Paper unknown, clipping sent from Ireland
MRS TROY, NEW ROSS
There passed away at her residence in Michael Street New
Ross, on Saturday the 21st inst., a most respectable
resident of the town and a member and relative of most
respectable and distinguished families, of Mrs Ellen Troy.
She belonged to one of the oldest and most respectable
families of Kilkenny City, being the fourth daughter of the
late John Leahy, merchant and hotel proprietor, Walton
Street, Kilkenny, and grand-niece of the illustrious
Archbishop Doyle, the great J.K.L. Her husband, Mr Patrick
Troy, who died some years ago was grand nephew of Archbishop
Thomas Troy, of Dublin, and he was first cousin to the late
Archbishop Daniel Murray of Dublin, and relative of several
other popular persons. During the years she had been
residing in the town she was held in the greatest respect by
all who knew her, and she peacefully passed away fortified
by the rites of the Catholic Church of which she was a
practical member. She leaves three daughters and one son
the latter who resides in Melbourne to mourn her loss. The
funeral to St. Stephen's Cemetery on Monday, was both large
and respectable.

Additional Comments:
Ellen Troy is my great grandmother. Her son, Capt. Patrick
Troy, is my grandfather. After some years in Melbourne he
