 John HIER, born in Ireland in the County of Wexford, now 
twenty-five years of age, migrated from New Ross of Ireland 
and arrived in the city of Buffalo, New York in June 1852, 
and now resides in the County of Grant, state of Illinois 
[actually, Wisconsin]

 The HIER family, parents Nicholas and Esther, and children 
John, Moses, Nicholas, Anne, Mary, Ellen and Margaret 
emigrated to Grant County, Wisconsin from Wexford (probably 
Ballymitty) in 1852.  The oldest son, Philip, left on his 
own and went to Argentina.  Esther WHITE HIER (1794-1866), 
had a brother, William WHITE (1807-1894) , who, with wife 
Margaret FURLONG (1801-1882)and children emigrated from 
Bannow Parish, town of Mooretown to Menominee Township, Jo 
Daviess County, Illinois in 1847.

 The parents of Esther and William WHITE were Moses WHITE, 
and Elenor DOYLE, buried at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 
Ballymitty, Co.Wexford.
