In the Name of God Amen I Patrick Bannon Able Seaman 
invalided from His Majestys Ship Magicienne number on Ships 
Books 279 and sent sick from the Prince Regent Merchant Ship 
now a Patient in the Royal Naval Hospital at the Cape of 
good Hope not being in perfect health but of sound and 
disposing mind and memory and considering the perils and 
dangers of the Seas and other uncertainties of this 
transitory life (and for avoiding controversies after my 
decease)do make publish and declare this my last Will and 
Testament in manner and form following that is to say first 
I recommend my soul to God that gave it and my body I commit 
to the Earth or Sea as it shall please God to order and as 
for and concerning all my worldly Estate I give bequeath and 
dispose thereof as followeth that is to say all my pay wages 
prize money and all and singular other sum or sums of money 
lands tenements Goods and Estates whatsoever as shall be any 
ways due owing or belonging unto me at the time of my 
decease I do give devise and bequeath the same unto my 
father Michael Bannon a Yeoman living at Bellfield near 
Mullingar in the County of Westmeath Ireland except my 
Bedding and wearing apparel these I bequeath to Thos Connor 
also invalided from the Magicienne and now a patient in the 
said Hospital hereby revoking all former and other Wills 
Testaments and Deeds of Gifts by me at any time heretofore 
made and I do hereby constitute and appoint my said father 
Michael Bannon sole Executor to this my last Will and 
Testament and I do ordain & ratify these presents to stand 
and be for and as my only last Will and Testament In Witness 
whereof to this my last Will and Testament I have hereunto 
set my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of July in the 
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen and 
in the 58th of the reign of His Majesty George the third of 
the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland etc etc 
Patrick Bannon his mark Signed sealed published and 
delivered as the last Will and Testament of the said Patrick 
Bannon in the presence of us J Duke Surgeon Naval Hospital _
