PARISH OF MOY— GORESTOWN.

[From C. J. Hobson, New York City.]

'Gorestown is a small burying-ground half a mile south-west of
the little town of Moy. Originally there was a Roman Catholic
Chapel here, winch was removed to Moy in 1833, where a Latin
inscription, given below, records the date ' : —

"Deo I Optimo Maximo | Sub Invocatione | Sainct
Joannes | Baptiste Haec | Ecclesia Condita | est Anno
Domini | MDCCCXXXIII | Curante Rev. Do | JOANNE
MONTAGUE | Parocho."

'After the removal of the church, and opening of a new burial-
ground attached thereto, Gorestown fell into disuse, and is only
used at present as a place of interment for suicides and stillborn
children. The burying-ground contains eight headstones, seven of
which are inscribed. The inscriptions are as follows':—
