In the Name of God Amen London December the 27 ... 1782 and 
in the Year of our Lord and in the Reign of King George the 
third I John Cahill of the City of Cashell in the Kingdom of 
Ireland late Servant to John Paterson Esquire of New 
Burlington Street and now a Tide Waiter in the Port of 
London Do make and Appoint this my last will and Testament I 
give to my Sister Catherine Cahill otherwise Magher one 
hundred Guineas for her own use and Support and in case of 
her death Forty Pounds to Margret Heaney and also Forty 
Pounds to her Nephew John Heaney twenty Pounds Sterling unto 
Darby Magher her Husband I also give to my Niece Mary 
Kennedy twenty Pounds I also give to my Niece Mary O'Brien 
twenty Pounds also give to my Nephew John O'Brien by trade a 
brazier one Shilling I also give to my best beloved friend 
John Wallace of Cashell ten Pounds I also Desire to be given 
to my Washer woman Ann Jorden Ten Pounds I also give to my 
friend William Emerey Five Pounds I also give to my God Son 
Stephen Robert Hickson ten Pounds I also allow ten Pounds 
for my Burial I also Desire to be given to the Poor that is 
to say To the blind to the Lame to the aged to the Orphans 
in most Distress ten Pounds I desire Also it may be given to 
a Catholick Clergyman for the use of those I have mostly 
wronged in this life and five Pounds to be given for the use 
of my Sinful Soul I desire that my three Watches namely one 
Double Gold Case Watch and two Silver Watches may be Sold 
for the real Value and what remains after my Legacies are 
Paid here to be sent to my Sister in Cashell my Linnen to be 
given to my Washer Woman Ann Jordan and all my Wearing 
Apparel to be Sold in the presence of John Hickson and Ann 
Jordon the Money to be given to the Poor my Tide Waiters Box 
and Hammock with the Necessarys thereof to be given to John 
Hickson also my Bead Stead out one my furniture and my three 
Boxes to be taken to Ann Jordon and there Examined in the 
presence of John Hickson and Ann Jordon I also Appoint John 
Hickson of ? Lane St Clement Danes and William Emery Lace 
Maker of Paternoster Row to be my Executors I humbly hope 
that Mr Griffith at Hammersmith will see that this my Will 
be Excted John Hill Signed Sealed and Delivered in the 
Presence of Joseph Brooke _John Harris
My most faithful and most Worthy Master of New Burlington 
Street has my Earning of ｣250 I humbly hope he will see this 
forwarded to Cashel John Cahill
