DONOUGHMORE CHURCH AND CEMETERY NOVEMBER 25, 2008

Source: Donoughmore Church And Cemetery

Alternate Name: Donaghmore Church and Cemetery

Location: Co. Tipperary South, Donoughmore Civil Parish.
4.5 miles north of the town of Clonmel on Church View Road.
Church View Road is the road that connects R688 (the Clonmel
to Cashel Road) to R689 (the Clonmel to Fethard Road). This
church is a National Monument of Ireland and is a Romanseque
RUIN, no longer in use as a Church. Per the "Topographical
Dictionary of Ireland" published in 1837 by Samuel Lewis,
this church "may possibly have been the church of a
monastery . . .of which St. Farannan was the first Abbot.

Additional Comments:
Seventeen (17) tombstones are found here at this site, which
I will be abstracting and posting in the near future.
