Born in Newport, County Tipperary, Ireland, a daughter of the late John and the late Bridget (Farrell) Ryan, she came to this country at an early age. Mrs. Gillis formerly resided at 34 Pine Hills st. and was an attendant of St. Peter's church. Mrs. Gillis was married to the late Matthew Gillis and is survived by a sister, Mrs. Patrick J. Shea.
