Carrigbeg, County Waterford, Aug 15th 1840.

Sir-As I consider it to be the bounden duty of every 
Irishman of every creed to give you a helping hand in 
forwarding the great measure of the repel, I beg leave to 
enclose the subscriptions of 53 repealers, whose names I 
sub-join. If there is one town in Ireland which has suffered 
more than another from the effects of the legislative Union, 
that town is Carrick-on-Suir: and I can assure you that the 
people are feelingly alive to the injustice that has been 
done to them.
  
  Wishing you many years of health and happiness, and 
expecting (although I am an old man) to see you take your 
seat in College-Green, I remain, Sir, Your's Patrick

>From the patriotic parishioners of Emly, Co. Tipperary, per 
John Ryan. Esq. secretary, who observes that the present 
instalment of Repeal Rent is the result of the demonstration 
lately held in the part of Tipperary where the liveliest 
feelings of patriotism were evinced by the tens of thousands 
whom assembled to express their unqualified dissent to the 
act of Union.
