Photos: Morrison, Jane ca1913 *********************************************** Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives Sligo Index Copyright ************************************************ File contributed by: Gordon Lyons lyonsg@golden.net April 28, 2012, 12:42 pm MORRISON, JANE Ca 1913 Source: Old Family Photo Jane Morrison (1829-1917), was born in Tubbercurry, County Sligo, Ireland, and as a bride, immigrated to Canada with her husband, Matthew Morrison about 1852. Jane's parents were William Morrison and Mary Ann Shaw. On their arrival in Canada the young couple first resided in Peel County where their first child, Mary Ann was born in 1853. A short time later they relocated to Arthur Township, Wellington county taking up land at Lot 21, Concession 11, there they remained for 39 years. In 1894 they moved from Arthur Township to Lot 100, Concession D, Minto Township. A sister Margaret, Mrs. Richard Wilkin, also resided in Minto Township. It is believed that Jane and Margaret had additional siblings including perhaps a brother Hugh. Additional Comments: Jane and Matthew are paternal great grandparents with their daughter, Eliza Jane (w/o John Officer Lyons) my grandmother.
