In the Name of God Amen I Peter Byrne formerly of H M twenty 
fifth Light Dragoons being at this time weak in bodily 
health but perfect mind memory and understanding thanks be 
given to Almighty God for it do make my last Will and 
Testament as follows viz 1st I bequeath my Soul to that 
Omnipotent who gave it and my body to the Earth in hopes of 
meeting with a joyfull resurrection hereafter 2 I bequeath 
unto my father and mother Charles and Catherine Byrne of 
Kelbride in the Town of Tullomore and Kings County Ireland 
my whole estate consisting of thirty three pounds eighteen 
shillings and ninepence sterling the amount of a bill of 
Exchange on Messrs Farlie Bouham & Co No 31 London together 
with forty spanish Dollars paid arrears of pay and the 
amount of my wearing apparel prize money for the Capture of 
the Isle of Mauritius and its Dependencies & all other money 
or monies that may be or become due to me at the time of my 
decease but in case my Parents Charles and Catherine Byrne 
not now in existence the foregoing bequest becomes the 
property as my next of kin to my brother and Sister John & 
Ellin of the aforesaid Parish Town & County or elsewhere 
share and share alike I constitute and appoint the aforesaid 
Charles and Catherine Byrne or John & Ellin Byrne of the 
aforesaid Parish Town & County to be my sole Executors & 
Extrix and to receive all debts that may appear due to me 
and that all debts be paid which may appear against me I 
revoke and disannul any Will or Wills that I may or have 
made prior to this date whereunto I have set my hand and 
name this twenty seventh day of June one thousand eight 
hundred and twenty two Signed Peter X Byrne his Mark
