years from 1st November, 1854

Rev. MARTIN BROWNE     0   3   10       Lease from HENRY 
SHAWE JONES to Rev. MARTIN BROWNE, dated 1st May, 1846, for 
the lives of Her Majesty, Prince Albert, and the Prince of 
Wales, all now in being, of 31 years from date of lease; 
proviso, that he, the said MARTIN BROWNE, his Heirs, 
executors, Administrators or Assigns, shall not nor will at 
any time during the term hereby granted, let sell, or 
convey, the said demised premises, or any part thereof, to 
any person whomsoever, save and except to his successor in 
the said Parish, nor use, or employ, or permit, of suffer to 
be used, or employed, all of any portion of said demised 
premises, otherwise than for the erection of a House of 
Worship, and the necessary Offices connected therewith. And 
further, that if at any time said premises shall be used or 
employed otherwise than for the purposes of a House of 
Worship, then and from thenceforth, this Lease shall be null 
and void, to all intents and purposes.  And Covenant, that 
immediately upon the completion of the intended House of 
Worship, or as soon as same shall be ready for use, that he 
the said MARTIN BROWNE, his Heirs, Executors, Administrators 
or Assigns, shall and will yield and deliver up, or cause 
and procure to be delivered up, to the said HENRY SHAWE 
JONES, his Heirs, or Assigns, the quiet and peaceable 
possession of the ground upon which the present Chapel 
stands, with the appurtenances as delineated on the margin 
of said Lease.  No House of Worship has as yet been erected.
