COUNTY LOUTH OBITUARIES - CUNNINGHAM, JAMES JULY 12, 1942

The death occurred in Dublin on Monday of Mr. J. Cunningham,
Leinster Avenue. A native of Drogheda, the late Mr.
Cunningham was engaged in the tailoring trade in Dublin for
over 40 years. He was a member of the John Boyle O’Reilly
Gaelic football team which was composed of Louth men
resident in Dublin. An enthusiastic follower of the Louth
team he seldom missed a match in which they were engaged. He
was a member of the Pre-Truce IRA. The funeral took place to
St. Peters Cemetery, Drogheda, on Sunday. Many old Gaels and
former comrades of the deceased took part in the cortege,
the coffin being draped in the tri-colour.
