"Here lies NATHANIEL FOX of Rathreagh, Esqre
founder of this church; son and heir of PATRICK
FOX, soldier, of Moynor in the County of
Westmeath, and very like him. He married ELIZABETH
daughter of WALTER HUSSY Esq of Moyl-Hussy by whom
he had eight sons and five daughters, of whom
eight sons and three daughters survive. PATRICK,
son and heir of the aforenamed NATHANIEL, married
BARBARA daughter of the most noble Lord PATRICK
PLUNKET Baron of Dunsany. The said NATHANIEL and
ELIZABETH lived 25 years in the state of holy
matrimony, and he died at Rathreagh on the 2nd
February 1634 in the 46th year of his age."

Revd. Roger Boyce
formerly a clergyman of the Church of Rome
but during the last 33 years of his life
a convert to the Church of England
He died in Edgeworthstown on the
20th of March 1806 aged 71 years
He was a pious, honest, inoffensive man,
an indulgent and tender husband and parent
although extremely poor from the time of his
reformation
so philanthropic was he that the following
may with justice be said of him
"Compassion Boyce on earth thy soul combined
with what remains of thee enshrined"

This stone was erected by order of Samuel Fforth
