In the Name of the Father & of the Son & of the Holy Ghost 
Amen I Denis Shea of the City of Limerick Shoemaker being 
weak in Body but of sound mind & understanding do make & 
ordain this my last Will & Testament In the first Place 
after the Payment of my lawful Debts I give & bequeath to 
the Revd father McMullen of the Parish of Doonagh in the 
County of Monaghan the Sum of five Guineas to erect an Altar 
piece in the Chapel of Glannan in said parish to the Memory 
of Thomas Shea Item I also give & bequeath to the said 
father McMullen the Sum of twenty pounds to be expended by 
him in Cloathing the Poor of the above mentioned Parish of 
Doonagh in the County of Monaghan according as he shall see 
most conducive to the Advantage & benefit of sd poor Item I 
also give & bequeath unto Catherine Doherty of the County 
Donegal my Wife's Sister the Sum of five Guineas I also give 
& bequeath unto Bridget O'Halloran alias Shea of Morow near 
Ennis in the County of Clare the Sum of Six Pounds Item I 
also give & bequeath to the said father McMullen of the 
aforesaid Parish of Doonagh the Sum of five Guineas to erect 
an Altar piece on the Parish of Corraghshrine(?) in the said 
Parish to the Memory of Maurice Shea Item I also give & 
bequeath the Sum of twenty pounds to be expended in 
procuring Masses to be sayd for the repose of my Soul Item I 
also Will & ordain that the remainder of my property now in 
the English funds be sold out & disposed of in the following 
manner Item I also give and bequeath unto john Cantillion of 
the City of Limerick Shoemaker the Sum of one pound & a 
Small Cloaths Item I  give & bequeath unto Catherine Shea 
the sum of Two hundred pounds as a Marriage portion the like 
Sum to be given to my daughter Mary out of which my funeral 
Expences are to be defrayed Item I ordain that the residue 
of my property above mentioned when sold out after Payment 
of the above Legacies shall be divided into three equal 
parts & laid out in the purchase of Annuities or any other 
way by which they may have a yearly property which cannot be 
sold out one part thereof to my Wife Anne Shea one to my 
daughter Catherine Shea & the other to Mary Shea alias 
Sullivan my other Daughter item if any of the above 
mentioned should die without Issue their part must revert 
back to my Nephew Maurice Shea's Children Item I bequeath 
also the sum of fifty pounds to be expended in Charitable 
intentions for the souls of my Mother & Brother Thomas Shea 
N.Bm it is to be noted that when my Wife dies half her part 
is to be divided between the Children of my Daughters 
Catherine & Mary if they be poor & the other half to be 
given in Charity for my Soul & the Soul of my Son Maurice 
Shea if they are in good circumstances the whole is to be 
applied to the above purposes Item Whatever Moveables or 
other Property I die possessed of I bequeath to my Wife Anne 
Shea I Appoint the Revd James O'Regan of the Franciscan 
Convent Newgate Lane in the City of Limerick & my Nephew 
Maurice Shea of Market Alley in said City Bookbinder 
Executors of this my last Will & Testament this Sixth day of 
March in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred & 
fourteen Dennis Shea Signed sealed & delivered in the 
presence of Thomas Quinlivan _ Patrick Haly his Mark _
