FITZGERALD, GEORGE AUGUST 9, 1899

Brooklyn Daily Eagle, NY, August 1899
George Fitzgerald, who died at Saratoga on Monday of 
consumption, was the pioneer wholesale maker of shoes in 
Brooklyn. He was born in Limerick, Ireland, 67 years ago and 
came to Brooklyn when 16 years old. He started a shoe 
factory on lower Fulton street forty years ago, and latterly 
was on Willoughby street, near Hudson avenue. He lived at 66 
St. Felix street with his two daughters and a son. The 
funeral will be held at the Church of Our Lady of Mercy, on 
Debevoise street, Thursday morning at 9:30 o'clock.
