CRIPPS, JOHN AUGUST 15, 1850

DIED.  August 15, in Limerick, John Cripps, Esq., formerly 
Mayor of that city.   

Additional Comments: NOTEs:  John Cripps was Mayor of 
Limerick in 1830-31(?)  Rev. Patrick Ftizgerald mentions in 
his book "The history, topography, and antiquities, of the 
county and city of Limerick...; Volume 2" published in 1827 
"Cahirnarry house is the seat of John Cripps" and the NUI 
Landed Estates Database at 
http://www.landedestates.ie/LandedEstates/jsp/property-show.
jsp?id=2919 describes Cahernarry House as "Originally a 
Cripps residence, occupied by a member of the Crips family 
in the 1770s and by J. Cripps in 1837. By the time of 
Griffith's Valuation Henry Watson was in residence. The 
house was valued at £8."
