MR. MARK O'CONNELL.

Mr. MARK O'CONNELL, of Commons, Mountmellick, died at his
residence on Saturday morning, the 27th of August.
Deceased was senior partner in the firm of M. O'Connell &
Sons, and was very widely connected, and is deeply
regretted by all. He was attended during his brief but
painful illness by Dr. Emerson, but almost from the
beginning it was recognised his case was hopeless.

The funeral was the largest seen in the locality for many
years, extending upwards of one and a half miles. The chief
mourners were -- Richard O'Connell, brother ; Patrick
O'Connell, Jeremiah O'Connill, John O'Connell, sons; P.
O'Connell, P. O'Connell, J. O'Connell, nephews; J. J.
Curran, W. J. Malone, and W. J. Fennelly, sons-in law.
Amongst those who sent wreaths were—Major and Mrs. Kemmis,
Captain R. A. Smyth, Mrs. W McEvoy, Mrs. Leathem, Miss
Deegan, Messrs. H. Smith & Sons, W. Goff Pim. The deepest
sympathy is felt by all with the family of deceased in
their sad bereavement.
