WILL: TASSELL, CHARLES 4 JANUARY 1758

In the Name of God Amen I Charles Tassell of Kile in
the County of Kilkenny in Sound mind tho infirm Body
do hereby make this my last Will and Testament
revoking all others whatsoever I commit my Soul to
God Almighty relying on the Merits of my Saviour Jesus
Christ my Body to be buried in the next convenient
Church yard after the least Expensive manner And
whereas I am Possessed of Goods and Chattels by
Stock Annuity .... Goods and Stock I Do will leave and
bequeath them in the following manner Imprimis I
leave to my Wife Judith during her natural Life the use
and benefit of them all that is to say the use of the
Three Thousand Pounds Stock in the joint Stock of four
Per Cent Annuity of the year 1748 the Possession of
the farm of Kyle which I hold by Lease under Genl.
Richard St George with all my stock and Goods She
paying the yearly contracted Rent thereout and after
the decease or demise of her the whole to be divided
equally among my four sons begotten on her named
Richard George John Charles they Paying to my only
Daughter Elizabeth the Sum of five hundred Pound
English Money that is to Say in the following manner
Vizt. she shall from them receive during her natural
Life the interest the Same shall bear in the funds and
after her decease the whole to be divided among her
Children if any she have and in failure of Issue in her
the whole after her decease like the above to go
equally to the enjoyment of my four Sons above
named Signed and sealed this fourth day of January
1758 and by me delivered Cha: Tassell
Witness present Richd St George _ Richd Marnell _ Thomas Proctor
And Whereas I have on the other side made my Will I do
hereby annex and Add the following as a Codicil to the
same in manner following Signifying that in case my
Sons or any of them Shall not live to return to the
enjoyment of the Same (being now all out of this
Kingdom) then and in such case I make the Sons of my
Brother James Tassell of England those namely by his
first Wife my next Heirs to my Sons and after to their
Heirs forever And whereas my Brother in Law Richard
Marnell has ever behaved like an honest Man to me I
Do bequeath him the Sum of Ten Pounds to be Paid
him immediately after my decease and I make this
Codicil in the same Hour day and year as in my Will on
the other side Written and I hereby name the
Reverend Robert Stewart of Freshford and my Son
Charles Tassel my Executors to See my Will Performed
as Witness my Hand Charles Tassell
Given in the Presence of us Richd St George _ Richd
Marnell _ Thomas Proctor
Proved at London with a Codicil 20 January 1759 by
Oath of Reverend Robert Stewart power reserved to
Charles Tassell
Proved at London with a Codicil 25 May 1782 by Oath
of Charles Tassell the Son Surviving Executor 23
January 1790
Administration with Will annexed of Goods
unadministered to Elizabeth Alley Wife of William
Alley Residuary Legatee and Daughter of deceased 21
May 1792
Administration with Will annexed to William Alley
Husband of Elizabeth Alley deceased Charles Tassel the
surviving Executor having died intestate
