OBITUARFIES: FRANCIS DUNPHY, APRIL 16, 1891

Francis Dunphy, proprietor of the National Hotel, died
at 1.30 this morning, after a brief illness. He was aged 58
years. A sketch of his life will be given in to-morrow's
issue.

FRANK DUNPHY.
His Funeral Will Take Place on Saturday Morning.

Mr. Frank Dunphy, for many years a respected citizen of
this city, died at his residence, the National hotel, Union
avenue and Twenty- fourth street, yesterday morning at
1.30 o'clock, of which fact brief announcement was
made in yesterday's TRIBUNE. Mr. Dunphy had been in
poor health for some time previous to his death. He was
born inGrange, county Kildare, Ireland, came to this
country when quite a boy and located in Altoona some
thirty-eight years ago. He worked on the Old Portage
railroad and was employed by the Pennsylvania railroad
company as fireman and finally as engineer for several
years. After leaving the service of the Pennsylvania
railroad company Mr. Dunphy embarked in business for
himself.

He leaves to mourn his loss a wife and three children -
one daughter, Mollie, and two sons, Francis G. and John
- one brother and one sister in Ireland and two sisters in
Pittsburg, Mrs. Elmer and Mrs. Leech; also his nephews,
John Dunphy, baggage master for the Pennsylvania
Railroad company; Edward Dunphy, machinist, both of
this city, and James Dunphy, of Milwaukee. At the time
of his death Mr. Dunphy was in his 58th year.

By his death his wife loses a fond husband and his
children a kind and indulgent father. At the time of his
death he was surrounded by his entire family and also
his nephew, John Dunphy, and his wife. He was a
member of the Roman Catholic church and received its
last rites by the hand of the Rev. Father Smith, of the
Sacred Heart chapel, who had waited on him constantly
during his illness.

The funeral will take place from his late residence avenue
(National hotel), Saturday morning at 8.55 o'clo to the
Sacred Heart church, where a high mass of celebrated
for the repose of his soul.
