TENANTS OF MONASTEREVIN & FONTSTOWN, COUNTY KILDARE, IRELAND - 1772

The 161 tenants below are extracted from a 1772 rental
of the estate of the Earl of Drogheda in the National
Library of Ireland (Ms. 12,722).   The tenants are in
three areas: 119 in the town and surroundings of
Monasterevin; 41 in Fontstown (or Fonstown) and one in
Cadamstown. The estate was then owned by Charles Moore,
the 6th Earl of Drogheda. The Moore family were largely
responsible for developing the town of Monasterevin.
Some name abbreviations are used including  Wm. =
William;  Edwd. = Edward; Danl. = Daniel;  Saml. =
Samuel. Other abbreviations are explained below.  Reps.
= Representatives, which suggests that the named tenant
was dead and the lease was being maintained by his
beneficiaries.

http://kildarelocalhistory.ie Nabuchadneezer (also
Nebuchadezer) Flinter was the proprietor of an inn in
the town of Monasterevin in the 1750s. Betham'sAbstracts
show a death of Nebuchadnezar Flinter in 1772.
