In the Name of God Amen I James Tuohill of Killarney in
the County of Kerry Apothecary being of sound and
perfect Intellect and memory Do make this my last Will
and Testament hereby revoking and annulling all former
wills Testaments and Codicils by me heretofore made
first I will order and direct that all my just and lawfull
debts and funeral expences shall be paid and liquidated
Secondly I will and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Mrs
Mary Tuohill the dwellinghouse at which I live at present
together with the furniture thereof and likewise all the
back concerns thereunto belonging and likewise two
tenements at the Farohill in said Killarney one paying
three pounds ster yearly & the other house sixteen
shillings and three pence yearly but after the expiration
of the lease of the latter house which will take place in a
few years the Widow Killihin is to pay the sum of two
pounds five shilling and six pence sterling yearly for the
said house I also will and bequeath to my said wife Mary
Tuohill the interest of Mrs Blennerhasset's bond (sixty
pounds sterling yearly) on condition that my said Wife M
Tuohill will pay the rent of the aforesaid houses that is
twenty three guineas yearly and the rest of the aforesaid
interest shall be expended in support of my Son Garrett
and the house and Shop I also strictly oblige my Son
Garrett not to sell or mortgage the said tenements as
during his life I also will and bequeath unto my Son
Pearce Tuohill now in Barbadoes the sum of two
hundred pounds sterling and to my son Edward the sum
of two hundred pounds ster and likewise to my son
Garrett Tuohill the sum of two hundred pounds ster And
further desire that those several bequests shall not be
paid to my forementioned Son during my own or my Wife
M Tuohill's life and then that shall be paid without
interest But should my said wife Mary and my said Son
Garrett happen to have any disagreement or
misunderstanding I will and bequeath unto my said wife
Mary the parlor drawing room and bed Chamber on the
same floor during her life rent free I also will and
bequeath unto my Son Pearce Tuohill in Barbadoes as
aforesaid houses and property provided my said son
Garrett shall die unmarried and leave no male Issue
lawfully begotten I also will and bequeath unto my
daughter Catherine Tuohill five pounds ster to buy
mourning To my Daughter Ellen Linnegar five pounds
ster To Mrs Mary Mathew(?)five pounds ster and to Miss
Mary Pearce five pounds ster to each for the same
purpose I also will and bequeath to my said Wife Mary
Tuohill two hundred pounds ster the remainder of the
amount of Mrs Blennerhasset's bond by her to be
disposed of as shall appear proper and reasonable to her
but still amongst her own family and not otherwise and
by and according to the direction of my Executors
hereinafter to be nominated I also direct that my Wife
Mary Tuohill and my Son Garrett Tuohill shall recover all
my lawful debts in the best manner possible but still that
the disposal of such debts thus recovered shall be vested
in my Wife Mary subjecting her to the reasonable
support of my Son Garrett Tuohill and further I will and
bequeath unto my said Wife Mary Tuohill the other
property monies or interests which by any means may
pertain or belong to me or which at the time of my
demise I may have any legal claim (save and except the
tenements property and concerns before by me
specified by me in this my Will) subjecting her to the
payment of my lawful debts out of this property and that
if any thing remain after the liquidation of my debts the
residue shall be divided into three equal portions
between my Wife Mary my daughter Catherine and my
son Garrett In this I am desirous to be explicit the
property to which I allude for the liquidation of my debts
and for the division is the residue of a bequest or
property left to me by my son James Tuohill in the East
Indies and which when received shall be applied as I
have before directed But should my son Garrett Tuohill
die before he shall attain the age of One and twenty
compleat years I will and direct that the forementioned
two hundred pounds ster or any other sum which by me
may be willed or bequeathed to him shall be equally
divided between my wife Mary Tuohill and my daughter
Catherine Tuohill I hereby constitute and appoint James
Fagan Esqre of the City of Cork Merchant and the
Reverend John McEnnery of Killarney in the said County
of Kerry as Executors of this my last will and Testament In
witness whereof I have signed my name affixed my seal
this eighth day of November in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and eighteen James Tuohill
