HISTORY: BOOKS, ROGER JONES TO L.HERBERT AT LODGINGS, LONDON
JUNE 10, 1681

RO.JONES to LORD HERBERT Letter No.454 Never recd
his letters abt employing Mr ED.KENNY to take care of
his concerns in Ireland TWISS said it was intended. Mr
Wm. KENNY, the brother, with his sister and CPT MEAD
came to KERRY to farm MR HERBERT holds from LORD
HERBERT. Waited on them to see whether MR KENNY
had recd such orders. They said there were no such
thing. Neither did he hear of Mr Griffith going into
Ireland until at Montgomery WILL RONDLE said he had
gone by Bristol. Would have stayed till further orders
had he known. Wishes he had been at CASTLE ISLAND
when Mr. GRIFFITH came or in England when TWISS and
MASON came over, would have discoursed them before
his Lordship. If a person of repute accused him it would
trouble him, but he knows their reputation and where
they live and that no credit will be given them whatever
his Lordship does.

Additional Comments:
Part of letter 454 seeming to present TWISS and MASON
in dubious circumstances.
