In the Name of God Amen I Patrick Kirwan Fitzt Thomas of the 
Town of Galway Mercht being weak of Body but of sound Mind 
and Memory blessed be God do make and ordain this my last 
Will and Testament in manner following first I bequeath my 
Soul to God hoping through the Merits of my Lord and Saviour 
Jesus Christ the Remission of my Sins and Life everlasting 
and my Body to be buried with my Ancestors at St Francis 
Abbey I will and will is that all my just and lawful Debts 
be paid as soon as possible my Effects are called in by my 
Executors hereafter mentioned I will and bequeath unto my 
beloved wife sixty pounds Stirling each and every year 
during her natural Life in lieu of any third or Dower that 
she might claim to my Worldy Substance by Articles of 
Intermarr or otherwise I further will and bequeath to my 
said beloved Wife the sum of two hundred and fifty pounds 
Ster to be by her disposed of to any or between my Children 
as She shall think fit I will and bequeath unto my father in 
Law Walter Blake one hundred pounds Ster I will and bequeath 
the Rest and Residue of my Worldly Substance unto my 
Executors hereafter mentioned In Trust and for the uses 
hereafter mentioned I will and my Will is that my Executors 
shall call in all the Debts due to me of every kind and 
Nature whatsoever and convert the same and all the Rest of 
my Worldly Substance into Money and lay out the same after 
paying all the just and lawful Debts due on me with the 
Bequest above mentioned at Interest on such sufficient 
Securities as my said Executors shall approve of and in case 
of Loss in said Securitys that my said Executors or their 
Heirs shall not be accountable for the same I further will 
and my Will is that my said Executors shall pay out of such 
Sum or Sums of Money as they shall think proper for the 
Support and Maintenance and Education of my Children until 
they attain the Age of 21 Years I also will and my Will is 
that my said Executors shall pay unto my Children when they 
respectively attain the Age of 21 Years an equal proportion 
of my Worldly Substance share and share alike but if in case 
all my said Children should happen to die before they should 
attain to the said Age of 21 Years as aforesaid in such Case 
I will and my Will is that my said Executors shall pay all 
my Worldly Substance in their Hands unto my Brother John 
Kirwan of London for his own Use and Behoof for ever except 
the Sum of one thousand pounds and the two hundred and fifty 
pounds here both which Sums amounting to twelve hundred and 
fifty pounds which I so will and bequeath to my said beloved 
Wife if such Contingencies should happen to be paid to her 
by my said Executors out of my Worldly Substance in lieu of 
all Maintenance third Dower or any other Challenge she may 
claim to my Worldly Substance whatsoever and the Rest of my 
said Worldly Substance to my Brother John Kirwan of London 
as aforesaid notwithstanding any Law Custom or Usage to the 
Contrary and do hereby make nominate and appoint my said 
beloved Wife Mary Kirwan otherwise Blake my father in Law 
Walter Blake my said Brother John Kirwan of London and my 
Brother in Law and Kinsman Pierce Kirwan of Dublin to be my 
Executors of this my last Will and Testament ratifying and 
confirming the same and annulling all former Wills by me 
made In Witness whereof I have hereunto put my Hand and Seal 
this 26th day of August 1754 It is further my Will and my 
Will is that my said Executors or the Major part thereon may 
pay to any or all of them may pay to any or all of my 
Children any Sum or Sums of Money of such Child's share or 
Dividend after they or shall attain to the Age of fifteenth 
as they think fit anything to the contrary notwithstanding
