COMPENSATION UNDER THE CRIMES ACTS MAY 2, 1883

The newspaper contains a number of warrants by the Lord
Lieutenant authorizing payments of the following sums as
compensation under the Crimes Acts for murder and personal
injuries.

£3000 to Mrs Harriet BLAKE, of Rathville, Co. Galway, for
the murder of her husband John Henry BLAKE, on the 28th June
1882.

£1200 to Harriet BLAKE (above) in addition to the
compensation for her husband's murder, for personal injuries
received on the 29th June 1882.

£600 to Peter DOHERTY, of Carrigeen East, Co. Galway, for
the murder of his son on the 2nd Nov. 1881.

£400 to Bridget RUANE, of Rathville, Co. Galway, for the
murder of her husband on the 20th June 1882.

£300 to Mrs. Fanny WALLACE, of Chale Farm, in the Isle of
Wight, for the murder of her son, Robert WALLACE, on the 8th
June, 1881, near Castle Taylor, Co. Galway.

£800 to Mary DEMPSEY, of Riversville, Co. Galway for the
murder of her husband on the 29th May 1881.

£3000 to Lady MOUNTMORRES, for the murder of her husband,
Lord MOUNTMORRES, on the 25th Sept. 1880, at Clonbur, Co.
Galway.
