JOHN EDWARDS'S MONUMENT
"Picture to yourself the excellence of a Christian
distinguished through life by all who knew him for strength
of mind & integrity of heart, and who could never see a
fellow creature in distress without an effectual effort to
relieve him, May this be remembered at that awful tribunal
where rich and poor appear together. Amen"

"Here lies the Remains of Master George SMYTH, Eldest, Son
of Major SMYTH, who departed this life the 14th of November
1795, Aged 8 years."

"Here lieth the remains of Daniel HUNT of New Garden, Esqre.
His principles were eminently pure and in his friendships
he was truly sincere, which rare endowments entitled him to
the esteem of all who knew him. He departed this life on
the 7th of June, in the year of our Lord 1808. In the 63rd
year of his age."

this life September 16th 1803 aged 70 years."

"To the memory of Beech SANDFORD who departed this life on
the 6th of February, Anno Dom 1841 in the 66th year of his
age. His afflicted family, while deeply mourning their
loss, rejoice in the Hope that he sleeps in Jesus.
'I am the resurrection and the life saith the Lord. He
that believeth in me tho' he were dead yet shall he live' -
John xi. 25 For me to live is Christ and die is gain' -

"Here lieth Mrs. Sarah Charlotte, Daughter of Joshua
ARMSTRONG, County of MEATH. She was a modest maid and wife.
Her cirtues were as unbounded as her affection and
humanity. Aged 37 years. A.D. 1797"

"Under this stone repose the mortal Remains of an honest man
and a good Christian. His name is now of little importance,
it will be known at the last day, and when this frail
memorial shall have crumbled into dust, it will be found
recorded in the Book of Life that Robin THOMAS having lived
to the age of 101 was never known during that period to have
injured a fellow creature, in thought, word or deed, but on
the contrary wish'd & did all the good in his power to every
Human being. Obiit April 1817"

"Sacred to the memory of the Elizabeth KIRKPATRICK spouse of
Capn. Samuel KIRKPATRICK, who died at Dennistown Castle
Hackett on the 3rd of March 1854 aged 33 years. Also to the
memory of her mother, Janot CAVEN who died at Dennistown on
the 22nd March, 1864, aged 77 years. Also to the memory of
her niece Elizabeth BAILIE youngest daughter of A. BAILIE of
Dennistown the 25th Septr. 1868 Aged 8 months."

"Sacred to the memory of Margaret BRAGG spinster aged 66
years eldest daughter of the late Captn. Thomas BRAGG of
Egremont, England. This monument is erected as a mark of
esteem by her nephew David RUTTLEDGE of Barbersfort in this
county, Esqre. at whose residence she died suddenly on the
15th day of February, 1851"
