TAAFFE, WILLIAM OCTOBER 18, 1758

In the Name of God Amen I William Taffe of the City of 
Dublin Dealer being Weak of Body bit of Sound and Perfect 
Memory and Understanding and calling to Mind the uncertainty 
of this life do think it convenient to make this my last 
Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to 
say I recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my 
Creator and my Body I commit to the Earth to be buried at 
the Discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named And as for 
such Worldly Substance as it hath Pleased God to bestow on 
me I Give and Dispose thereof as follows that is to say I 
Give Devise and bequeath unto my Neice Mary Taaffe of Baynis 
Court Newgate Street London Twenty pounds Sterling out of a 
Legacy bequeathed me of forty Pounds by Mrs Sarah Tafts of 
Dove Court Lombard Street London and the remaining part of 
the above Legacy being Twenty Pounds I Give and bequeath as 
follows that is to say I Give Devise and bequeath Neice Mary 
Taaffe of Bagnis Court Newgate Street London Twenty Pounds 
Sterling out of a Legacy bequeathed me of forty Pounds by 
Miss Sarah Tafe of Lombard Street London and the remaining 
part of the above Legacy being Twenty Pounds I Give and 
bequeath as follows that is to say I Give and bequeath to my 
Nephew William Taaffe One Pound ten Shillings I Give and 
bequeath to my Cousin Nicholas Taaffe two pounds Sterling I 
Give and bequeath to Mr Joseph Munns of Cross Lane One Pound 
ten Shillings I Give and bequeath to my Son John Taaffe One 
Shilling I Give and bequeath to my Neice Nancy Norton One 
Shilling I Give and bequeath to my Bridget Porter One 
Shilling All the rest remainder and residue of the above 
Lagacy of forty Pounds bequeathed me by the above Mrs Sarah 
Tafts together with all the rest of my Worldly Substance 
both real and Personal I Give and bequeath to my Cousin 
Elizabeth McElroy I do hereby Nominate constitute and 
Appoint the said Elizabeth McElroy Sole Executrix In Trust 
of this my last Will and Testament Lastly I revoke and make 
void all former and other Wills by me made and Declare this 
only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I 
the said William Taaffe have hereunto put my hand and Seal 
the Eighteenth Day of October One thousand Seven hundred and 
fifty Eight William Taaff
