lies MARGARET MATHEWS Wife to | the above PATRICK who died Oct'r
29th 1766 aged 26 | and two of his Children FARRELL & PATRICK who
died Young And also his Father FARRELL MATHEWS who died the 30th
Jan'y 1741 aged 45 | Here also lieth JOHN Matthews beloved when
living and died Regretted the 27th Aug'st 1701 Aged 25 years
After having discharged the Important duties of a Son a Brother a
Husband and Affectionate Friend | Here also lieth the Body of
BRIDGETT MATHEWS Wife of the above PATRICK who died the 20th
Feb'ry 1793 Aged 45 Years | "Requiescant in Pace" [broken/ flat
on ground/part now missing]

her dearly beloved husband Michael MACGOWRAN who departed this

beloved children who died young Here also lieth the remains of
his belov'd father | and mother Daniel and MARY And eleven
brothers and sisters

the body of | ROBERT PENSTAN who | departed this life the 6th |
of September 1816 aged | 58 years. Lord have mercy | on his soul
[damagaed/parts now missing]

Sacred | to the memory of the soldiers | belonging to his
majesty's 18th Regiment | of Foot and a few belonging to other |
Corps who activated by a desire of more | active service nobly
Volunteered | from the South Mayo and different regiments of
Irish Militia into the line | and who were unfortunately
shipwrecked | on this coast in the Prince of Wales Packet | and
perished on the night of the 19th | November 1807. This tribute
in their | memory has been placed on their tomb by order of
General Earl of HARRINGTON | Commander of the forces in Ireland.
