Notice Board:-  The LITERARY PARADE | One of Dublin's major 
contributions to European Culture has been in the area of | 
literature. | Many writers of world renown | were born here 
including three winners | of the Nobel Prize for Literature. 
 GEORGE | BERNARD SHAW, WILLIAM BUTLER YEARS and SAMUEL 
BECKETT. JONATHAN SWIFT, Author | of Gulliver's Travels was 
Dean of Saint | Patrick's Cathedral for 32 years. The | 
Literary Parade was designed to provide, in chronological 
order, a bronze plaque | to commerate each writer. The 
sculptors LEO HIGGINS and COLM BRENNAN | were commissioned 
to carry out the work | and the plaques are mounted under 
the | original sandstone arches along the | boundary of the 
Park.

Each plaque of the LITERARY PARADE can be found behind an 
enclosed area with the date 1988 inscribed on the front, the 
year they were Commissioned.
