braighdeanais iad. | Founded in the early 16th century by
the O'DONNELLS for the Franciscan Friars, and built on the
site of an older church erected by the O'TONERS. | In 1559
CALVAGH O'DONNELL and his wife were captured here and
carried | off into captivity by SHANE O'NEILL. | On 23
September, 1592, NEAL O'BOYLE, Bishop of Raphoe, held a
chapter | here. The buildings and lands were granted at the
plantation to | Captain BASIL BROOKE.

52 Years | His remains are interred in Kensal | Green
Cemetery, near London.
