BARTLEY, WILLIAM

Sergeant William Bartley, 150790, 52nd Battalion (Manitoba 
Regiment) Canadian Expeditionary Force, died of his wounds 
in a military hospital in Tooting, south London, on 16 
October 1918. William Bartley was born on 2 February 1893 at 
Carnone, County Donegal. He was employed as a bank clerk at 
the time he enlisted in the Canadian Army on 26 August 1915 
at Portage Le Prairie, Manitoba. He was 5 feet 7 inches in 
height, had dark complexion, blue eyes and dark hair. He is 
buried in the same grave as his father.
