OBITS FROM THE DERRY JOURNAL

	The following extracts from the Derry Journal, kindly
sent Us by the Rev.J. H. Steele, we have inserted under
"Donegal," As they appear to belong to that county.

	Derry Journal, 9th March, 1813.

"Died at Murvagh, Co. of Donegal, Mrs. Alcock, wife of the
Rev. Dr. Alcock, V.G. of Raphoc.  In the several duties of
life, as a daughter, a sister, a wife, and a mistress of a
family, and a kind neighbour to all around her, she had no
superior. She died in her 88th year, in a good old age, in
every sense of the word."

['The above-named Mrs. Alcock, was ANN, daughter of WILLIAM
PATERSON, Esq., of l'laister, parish of Taughboyne, County
of Donegal (by DONEGAL.

The dau. Of _______ MORGAN, Esq., his wife), and sister of
ANDREW PATERSON, Esq., of Plaister and Magherafelt.']

Derry Journal, Tuesday, 29th April, 1817.

"At Raphoe, in the 86th year of his age, the Rev. Dr.
ALCOCK. His long life was passed in doing all the good in
his power, As a clergyman, as a magistrate, and as a
friend."

	'A silhouette of The Ven. John Alcock, L.L.D.,
Archdeacon and V.G. of Raphoe, is in the possession of the
Rev. J. H. Steels, endorsed on the Back as follows: -- "The
Revd. John Alcock, D.D., Rector of Drumholme, And
grand-uncle of mine.  (Signed), I[SABELLA] MARSHALL,."  Mrs.
Isabella Marshall was the eldest dau. Of Capt. WM. PATERSON,
H.E.I.C.S., Of Mason Lodge, County Donegal, and 2nd wife of
the Rev. GEORGE MARSHALL, Rector of Donagh, in the same
county.'
