In the Name of God Amen I James Cahan Mariner of the
Jane Friggott Captain  Richard Pinnell Commander being
sick and weak in Body but of sound and  perfect mind and
memory praised be God do make and ordain this my last
Will and Testament in manner and form following vizt.
Imprimis I give and  bequeath my Soul into the hands of
Almighty God my Saviour in certain and  sure hopes of
the Resurrection at the last day Item I give and bequeath
my Wages which shall become due to me in the
aforesaid Ship the Jane Friggott unto my Honoured
Mother Anne Cahan inhabitant in Pump Street St John
Parish Londonderry in Ireland And I do hereby nominate
and appoint Margarett Coventry living at the Hermitage
Stairs at the Signe of Londonderry my true and lawfull
Executrix to see the abovesaid fulfilled And as for what
Cloaths and other Effects I have on board the said Ship at
my Decease I give and bequeath unto my loving friends
Andrew Strackhorn Walter Swalton and Daniel Dunivan
to be equally divided amongst them In Wittness whereof
I have  hereunto sett my hand and seal this seventh day
of October One thousand  seven hundred and six James
