In the Name of God Amen I Daniel Donovan mariner of the City 
of Cork in the Kingdom of Ireland and late of His Majesty's 
Ship Calcutta now a Prisoner of War in the Chateau of Sedan 
department des Ardennes in the Empire of France being weak 
in body but of sound and disposing mind memory do to avoid 
controversies after my decease do publish and declare this 
my last Will and Testament first I resign my Soul to God 
that gave it me and my Body I commit to the Earth as it 
shall please God to order and as for my Wages Bounty money 
Prize money that may be coming due to me for the aforesaid 
Ship I give and bequeath to my dear & loving Mother Mary 
Donovan residing at North Main Street Cork in the Kingdom of 
Ireland and as for what money I have now belonging to me 
Cloaths etc. in the said Depot I give and bequeath to my 
loving friend and Townsman John Carroll now a prisoner of 
War in No 13 of the said Depot requesting of him at the same 
time to see that I am genteelly interred agreeable to the 
rules and regulations of the Catholic Church I do hereby 
nominate and appoint Mary Donovan full Executor of this my 
last Will and Testament revoking all former Wills deeds for 
which I may have formerly made giving and hereby granting 
this my last Will and Testament given under my hand at the 
Chateau of Sedan this sixth day of August in the year of our 
Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirteen and in the fifty 
third year of the Reign of his Majesty George the third over 
great Britain Ireland etc Daniel Donovan his mark Signed 
Sealed published and declared in the presence of us hereunto 
subscribed Jno Graham Surgeon Royal Navy
