ARDAGH CHURCHYARD
  [From Mr. J. Coleman)

This churchyard is on the roadside, about six miles north 
east of Killeagh, and the same distance from Youghal.  It is 
thickly studded with headstones, and contains the walls of a 
Protestant Church dismantled since the Disestablishment Act. 
The following are typical inscriptions :-

The Family | Burial Place of | David Walsh | of Ballyneague 
| who departed this life | October 3rd A.D. 1853 | aged 98 
years | Pray for his soul | and the soul of his beloved wife 
| Eliza | who died Sept. 5th 1849 | Aged 90 years | May they 
rest in peace.

Erected | by Thomas O'Connor of | Ballydaniel in memory of 
his | son Patrick who depd. This life | August 20th 1827 
aged 19 years | also his daughter Catherine | died June 7th 
1829 aged 27 years | May they rest in peace.

Erected | by Margaret Landers in memory | of her beloved 
husband James | Landers of Youghal Park who | depd this life 
August 15th 1831 | Aged 48 years | May he rest in peace.
