Mrs. Johanna Looney At 98: Mass Friday

Belmont - A requiem Mass will be offered Friday at 9 a.m. in 
Our Lady of Mercy Church for Mrs. Johanna Looney, 98, of 845 
Lewis rd., who died Monday at St. Elizabeth's Hospital.

She was the widow of William Looney and sister of the late 
Michael O'Keefe, a founder of First National Stores, Inc.

She leaves a daughter, Evelyn Looney; a son, James; four 
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Additional Comments:
Johanna was daughter of Arthur and Catherine (Frawley) 
O'Keeffe of Barnanageeha, Ennis, Co. Clare.  Sister to 
Michael O'Keeffe and Maria (O'Keeffe) Scanlan and other 
siblings who remained in Ireland.  She was born October 14, 
1868.  She married William Looney in February 1897 in New 
York City.  They then moved to Boston, MA.
