THE FREEMAN'S JOURNAL APRIL 5, 1817

Ennis. March 29th.

Last Wednesday night, four or five fellows wearing shirts
over their other garments, and apparently well armed,
burglarlously entered the dwelling of Pat Brown at Clounina,
two of whom approached his bed, and threatened with horrid
imprecations to take away his life unless he kept his head
covered, while others of the gang broke open a chest, and
took thereout upwards of £30, they also took with them 6 tea
spoons, a table spoon, some promissory notes, and other
papers, and about 5/., worth of tobacco. It is hoped that
some of the articles, thus stolen, may lead to a detection
of the perpetrators of this felony.
