He was born in Lurgan, N. Ireland on May 31, 1020 to William and Letia Cummings. His family emigrated to Edmonton, Alberta in 1922. Norm attended Multnomah School of theBible, in Portland, Oregon where he met his wife Amy. He then attended Wheaton College,Illinois and the University of Arizona. Norm married his sweetheart Amy in Tucson, Arizona in 1944 where he was ordained asa Baptist minister and held his first pastorate. Norm pastored another church in San Diegi,California, then worked as an area director for the Youth For Christ. In 1954 Norm accepted theposition of Home Directorwith Orient Crusades, a missionary orginazation now known as OCInternational. Norm provided leadership with this organization for over 25 years until his retirement inthe early 1980's. He is predeceased by his wife of 66 years Amy. His three brothers., Stan, Jack,George, and sister, Marjorie.
