ANTRIM WILLS: KANE, ALEXANDER OCTOBER 19, 1727

In the Name of God Amen the Nineteenth day of October One
Thousand seven hundred Twenty Seven I Alexandr Kane of Lairn
in the County of Antrim being very Sick and weak in body but
of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God therefore
calling to mind the Mortality of my Body and knowing that it
is appointed for all Men once to dye Do make and ordain this
my last Will and Testament that is to say Principally and
first of all I recommend my Soul into the hands of God that
gave it and for my body I recommend it to the Earth to be
buryed in a Christian like manner in the Church Yard of
Lairn at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting at
the generall Resurrection I shall receive the same again by
the Mighty Power of God And as touching such Worldly
Substance as it hath pleased God to bless me with in this
Life I give bequeath and dispose in the following manner and
form Imprimis after my just Debts are paid I give and
bequeath unto Janet my dearly beloved Wife the third part of
all my worldly Substance which at present is on my own Hands
or the Hands of any other Person or Persons Item I give and
bequeath unto my beloved Son John Kane the other two part of
my worldly Substance and if it shall please God to call him
of the World before the comes of Age I order that the one
half of what is here bequeathed him be given to my Sister's
Daughter Viz her eldest And the other half to my Brother in
Law Wm Murphey and my dear Sister Mary Kane and Samuel
Murphey their Son whom I order the one half to be given to
viz of which is last bequeathed And I do nominate constitute
and appoint Janet my loving wife to be the only Exrs of this
my last Will and Testament And I likewise appoint James
Jackson and John White both of the old Town of Larn to be my
Exrs with my Wife aforesaid and that they inspect into all
my concerns and take an Account of the same and see justice
done according to this my last Will and Testament And I do
hereby disallow revoke and disannull all and every other
former Testament Wills or Grants by me in anyways before
this time made ratifying this and no others to be my last
Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett
my Hand and Seal the day and Year above written Alexandr
Kane
Proved at London 5 February 1733 by the Oath of Janet Reed
otherwise Kane (Wife of Joseph Reed) Relict of the deceased
power reserved to other Executors
