Located on Ballitober Road, just off Dunluce Road. Nos. 0 - 50

Photo No.0
Ruin of ST. CUTHBERT's Church, Dunluce:
Here we have the front façade of the Church and the gate entrance. The
Old Church lies about half a mile from Dunluce Castle. Originally
founded in the 13th Century it was refurbished by the MacDONNELLS in the
17th Century. Although the family themselves were Catholic, many of the
townsfolk were Protestant and would have worshipped in this building.
In the graveyard are a number of headstones of Scots merchants from
Troon and Ayrshire who died in the town. The Church remained in use
until 1821 when a new one (ST JOHN the BAPTIST, Church of Ireland) was
built in Bushmills, Co. Antrim.
