St Abban's RC Church in Killeen Co Laois

This is St Abban's RC Church that the above children and their family's would have attended mass every Sunday.


This is Farrell's pub at Killeen, nearly opposite the Chapel....and after they went to mass the men would wander across the road for a drink in this pub.

Ned Dempsey was the owner of that pub in the 1930's and 40's. Apparently he received two years hard labour because he was nice to a certain member of staff in the his shop.

Listed under the principal seats in the Parish of Killabban are: M. Dillon Thomas, Esq. who resided in Killeen.
