Carlow Town Hall in Haymarket

The photo was taken in 1952 ~In the Hay Market. Ann and Kevin O'Keefe pictured sitting in a cart owned by Tom Meehan with their aunt Loretta Moore on the right. The wall of the Weigh-house, (John O'Brien was the Weighmaster). Centre of picture we can read the wall-plaque designating the area as "Carlow Public Market" alongside that is the gated entrance to the Butter Market. The urban council stores are situated inside the granite gates leading to the Butter Market. The pointed roofed building was a storehouse for the Town Council.
