To the Editor "Nationalist and Leinster Times".

Stradbally, 26th October, 1920.

Dear Sir - A report having been circulated that my son, M. J. Colgan, the Petty Sessions Clerk of Strabally, has joined the "Black and Tans". I beg to give that malicious report an unqualified contradiction.

He never for a moment entertained a thought of joining that corps; and there are several respectable men in this town who can verify what I say, as they have been in his company for a considerable time during the past few days.

Thanking you in anticipation, I am, Mr. Editor, your obedient servant, M. Colgan.
