Entry from autograph book of Republican prisoners held in Mountjoy Jail.

Mountjoy Jail, 12th May 1923.

Arrested 27th October 1922, tried by a Military Court-Martial at Carlow Military Barracks on 5th December 1922 with 9 others, charged with being in possession of 1 Lee-Enfield rifle, 1 bandoleer of ammunition for same.

My sentence is still unknown.
Ireland unfree shall never be at peace.

I recognize the Denis Nolan of Cunaberry mentioned in the transcription.
He was the father of the Michael Nolan of Cunaberry (near Ballon) who died  around 2002.
A granddaughter of Denis lives in Ardattin.
This is also the family where "Denis" was, for many generations, a signature first name.
