1. 1st Jan 1864 , Alice Page (87) Ardfinnan, Iffa and Offa
west.Verdict-Visitation of God. Reported by Constable Stewart.

2. Jan 10th on Ellen Cashin (84) Garryandrew, St. Johns, Middlethird. Dr.
Dan Moloney. Death from natural causes accelerated from the severity of the
weather. Reported by Constable Lynam.

3. Jan 11th on Bridget Sullivan (7) Carrick on Suir, Parish St. Nicholas,
Iffa and Offa east. Dr. Alex Fitzgerald. Accidental death caused by a horse
knocking her down. Reported by Constable S.I.Heard.

4. Jan 12th on Charles O'Brien (1yr 7 mths) Clonmel. Parish St. Mary's, Iffa
and Offa West. Dr. Patrick Fitzgibbon. Accidental death caused by
inflammation of his lung by drinking boiling water. Reported by Constable
S.I.Kittson.

5. Jan. 13th on Joseph Brennan, (58). Corbally, Drangan, Middlethird, Dr.
James Going. Death by visitation of God. Reported by Constable Duggan.

6. Jan 29th on Catherine White, (36) Clonmel, St. Mary's. Iffa and Offa
East. Dr. Thomas Scully. Death from disease of the heart.  Reported by
Constable S.I.Kittson.

7. Feb. 1st on ?Henery? (29) Clonmel, St. Mary's Iffa and Offa East. Dr.
James Dempster. Death from disease of the heart. Reported by Major Pigow, G.

8. Feb. 4th William Power (24) Castle John, Templemichael, Slievardagh. Dr.
Anthony O'Ryan. Accidental death by a piece of iron falling on his head.
Reported by S.I.Heard.

9. Feb 9th on John Harvey (80) Carrick on Suir, St. Nicholas, Iffa and Offa
East, Dr Alex Fitzgerald. Death from natural causes, accelerated by not
having sufficient nourishment to sustain life. Reported by S.I.Heard.

10. March 1st on Johanna Thornton (3) Ballysheehan. Dr. Michael P. Cormick.
Death from congestion of the brain. Reported by S. Thompson.

11. March 2nd on Denis Cooney, (50) Clonmel, Parish St. Mary's Iffa and Offa
East. Dr. O.B.Mahoney. Death from rupture oaf a blood vessel caused by a
fall from his horse while under the influence of drink. Reported by
S.I.Kittson.

12. March 8th on William Galavin (4) Clonmel. St. Mary's, Iffa and Offa
East. Dr. John Prosser. Accidental drowning. Reported by S.I.Kittson.

13. March 15th on Catherine ? (80) Lynefune, Templetinny, Iffa and Offa
West. Dr. Ambrose Mulcahy. Death by visitation of God. Reported by Constable
McManus.

14. March 30th on James O'Brien (82) Rehill, Whitechurch, Iffa and Offa, Dr.
John Stokes. Death by visitation of God. Reported by S.I.Green.

15. March 31st on Catherine O'Brien, (2) Fethard, Middlethird, Dr. Francis

16. April 1st. on John Moroney (50) Cahir, Iffa and Offa West. Dr. John
Stokes. Accidental drowning while under the influence of intoxicating
Liquer. Reported by S.I. Fosberry.

17. March 31st-April 4th on a male child (3 months) Clonmel, St. Marys, Iffa
and Offa East. Dr. Patrick Fitzgibbon. Found dead. Reported by H.C.Parr

18. April 8th on Richard Moloney, (38) Clonmel. St. Mary's, Iffa and Offa,
East. Dr. Patrick Fitzgibbon. Death from the effects of intoxicating drink
Reported by Constable Parr.

19. April 14th on Michael Colleton, (1yr 11 mth) Ballycullen, Kelvemnon,
Slievardagh, Dr. James Going. Accidental burning. Reported by H.C.Flanagan.

20. April 20th on William Ryan, (85) Fethard, Middlethird, Dr. Francis C.

21. Thomas Woods  jnr (29) Fethard, Middlethird. Dr. Francis C. Burgess.

Dr. Pierce B. Stafford. Accidental death by falling of a quay. Reported by

23. May 4th on Bridget Murphy (60) Cashel, St. John's. Middlethird. Dr.
James Graham. Death by visitation of God. Reported by S.I.Thompson.

24. May 14th on Patrick Doolan, (15) Ardfinnan, Iffa and Offa west, Dr.
Pierce Stafford. Death from disease of the heart. Reported by Constable

26. June 7th on Honora Neill (50) Ballyboy, Tullahortan, Iffa and Offa West.
Dr. Richard Walsh. Death from immediate use of intoxicating drink. Reported

27. June 10th Martin Commins, (1yr 6mth) Clonmel, St. Mary's, Iffa and Offa
East. Dr. Patrick Fitzgibbon. Accidental burning. Reported by Constable

28. June 17th on Honora Purcell (54) Lisronage, Iffa and Offa, Dr. F.C.

29. June 22nd on Catherine Shea (25) Fethard, Middlethird. Dr.T.C. Burgess.

32. June 30th on Catherine Lonergan, Mortlestown, Knockgraffin, Iffa and
Offa West. Dr. John Stokes. Death from disease of the heart. Reported by
Constable Lenihan.

33. July 1st on Martin Cahill (60) Cashel, St. John's. Middlethird. Dr. Dan.
Moloney. Hanged himself while labouring under temporary insanity. Reported
by S.I.Thompson.

4. April 23rd. on John Carew, Donohill, Clanwilliam. Dr.W.J.Power.
Bronchitis caused by injuries from Michael Egan. Reported by S.I.William
Saville.

5. April 27th Sir Thomas Judkin Fitzgerald. Golden Hills, Relickmurray,
Clanwilliam. Dr. Matthew S. Kennedy. Death from temporary insanity. Reported
by Thomas Mack.

6. May 4th on Bridget King, Foilaclinch, Toem, Clanwilliam, Dr. Jeremiah
Dowling. Disease of the lungs. Reported by William Saville.

7. May 9th on a child, Killeenagaliff, Templebrathen, Clanwilliam. Dr.
Thomas B. Ryan. Death by drowning immediately after birth by person or
persons unknown. Reported by William Saville.

8. June 1st on Michael Ryan, Newtown, Ardmayle, Clanwilliam. Dr. Michael P.
Cormack. Accidentally burned. Reported by Daniel Maguire.

9. June 6th on Martin Quinlan, Abbeysouth, Relickmurray, Clanwilliam. Dr.
Michael P. Cormack. Death from natural causes. Reported by Constable
Donovan.

10. June 20th on Catherine Carroll, Ballywire, Clonbeg, Clanwilliam. Dr.
Thomas B. Ryan. Death from disease of the heart. Reported by Owen O'Malley.

A return of inquests held by T.T. Abbott, Coroner from the time of his last
account up to the 20th June 1864.


1 8/3/1864. Phebe Sadleir, Castle Otway, Upper Ormond. Dr.G.Fritts.
Verdict-Found lying across the fire in her own room burned to death,
supposed to have had a fit of epilepsey. Reported by Constabulary.

2. 20/3/1864, on Mary Daly, Gurrane, Upper Ormond. Dr. R. Cashel,
Verdict-Died suddenly on the 19inst from an attack of apoplexy. Reported by
Constabulary.

3. 16/4/1864 on Michael Burke, Coolross, Lower Ormond. Dr. M'Garvey.
Verdict-Found dead by strangulation supposed by the neck with a small rope
from a collar brace in his own house. Reported by Constabulary.

4. 20/4/1864 on Anne Simmons, Cloughjordan, Lower Ormond. Dr.A.Walsh. Died
suddenly from disease of the heart. Reported by Constabulary.

5. 23/5/1864 on James Carty, Ballycapple, Lower Ormond. Dr.A.Walsh. Died
from rupture of a blood vessel, in the vicinity of the heart. Reported by
Constabulary.
