Greencastle guarded the entrance to Carlingford Lough during the Medieval era. In 1316 it was attacked by Edward Bruce. Later in the 14th C. it was again attacked. Eventually it was kept as a garrison for Elizabeth I.

There was a Hugh Cunningham passenger on May 16, 1910 Liverpol to  NewYork “US Celtic”.  He was a farmer, single age, 20. He was the son of Nicholas  Cunningham of Greencastle Kilkeel Ireland.  Could be the same Hugh Cunningham who was living in Milford in 1917.  In 1910 this Hugh Cunningham gave his destination at Wyoming, (friend D Sloan, Rock Springs, Wyoming)  but he may have gone to Park City eventually.

Frank, age 29, emigrated 1900- a miner
John J. age 26, emigrated 1900—a carpenter
James, age 29 emigrated 1901-a miner
Dan, age 22, emigrated 1909 (married)—an auto mechanic

There was a Hugh Cunningham also from Kilkeel Co Down who was living in Milford Utah (Beaver Co) working for the Cedar  Talisman Mine in Milford He was age 27, single, born Kilkeel June 7, 1889 may be related to these Park City Cunninghams.
