McKEE

Hugh Herbert Martin  McKee 1935 - 2006

Martin McKee beloved husband of Ruth of Airdrie, and loving father of Elaine and Grace died on Thursday, March 2, 2006 at the age of 71 years.
Martin was born on February 18, 1935 in Kilkeel, County Down, Northern Ireland. He married Ruth on April 5, 1966 and came to Canada with his wife and young daughters, Elaine and Grace ?to join other family in the Big Valley District on August 22, 1981. Martin began working with Wimpey Western International as a Supervisor and settled with his family in September 1981 in Airdrie. In 1988 Martin founded McKee Homes in Airdrie, Airdrie's primary builder. He was an active member of his community being a former Rotarian and Mason. He was also an active member of the Airdrie United Church both as a committee member and in the choir, a supporter of many community events, but most of all of his wife, children, grandchildren, and their accomplishments. Martin was also an avid gardener and golfer and well as deeply passionate about the Building Industry. Besides his loving wife Ruth, Martin is also survived by his daughter Elaine and son-in-law Rob Doel, and grandchildren Ryan and Mitchell, his daughter Grace and son-in-law Shaun Howell and grandchildren Sophia and Samuel. He is also survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Molly and Willie Edgar, Louie and Dick Nicholson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Sam and Florrie McKee, Willie and Freda McKee all of Kilkeel, County Down, Northern Ireland; brother-in-law Gregory Martin of England as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Jane, sisters and brothers-in-law, Madge and Bob Blue and Evelyn and Willie McKee, brother Tommy McKee.? Forever with the Lord.

McMillan - Mitchell

William John McMillan b. Apr. 1837 (likely in Katesbridge, Cty Down), d. 5 Aug 1919 in Eldon Twp., Victoria Cty., Ontario, Canada, s/o Robt. McMillan & Rachel Paxton (info from death registration).
William came to Canada around 1860? He's on the 1871 census in Ontario as a Stray.  He married abt 1880 in Uxbridge Twp., Ontario Cty. to Mary Ann Sara Elizabeth Mitchell, b. 5 Sep 1864, d. 12 Oct 1914, also in Eldon Twp.
