Cunninghams from Greencastle - 1917 WWI Draft Registrations

James Cunningham living in Park City Utah
Born October 27, 1887 Greencastle CO DOWN Ireland (Kilkeel)  Carpenter, with Cardiff Mining Co.  working at Big Cottonwood, SL
 Co UT single, mother partial dependent

There was a Hugh Cunningham passenger on May 16, 1910 Liverpool to  NewYork “US Celtic”.  He was a farmer, single age, 20. He was the son of Nicholas  Cunningham of Greencastle Kilkeel Ireland.  Could be the same Hugh Cunningham who was living in Milford in 1917.  In 1910 this Hugh Cunningham gave his destination at Wyoming, (friend D Sloan, RockSprings, Wyoming)  but he may have gone to Park City eventually.

1910 Dist 171 (Park City-south of the center of Fifth St) In the 1910 census in Park City at 510 Park Avenue there were four Cunningham Brothers (b Ireland) living together:

Frank, age 29, emigrated 1900- a miner
John J. age 26, emigrated 1900—a carpenter
James, age 29 emigrated 1901-a miner
Dan, age 22, emigrated 1909 (married)—an auto mechanic

John Joseph Cunningham living in Park City Utah age 36, born September 10, 1882 miner, Ontario Silver Mining Co, Park City closest relative: Mrs Ellen Cunningham, Greencastle, Kilkeel, Co. Down. US Citizen.

There was a Hugh Cunningham also from Kilkeel Co Down who was living in Milford Utah (Beaver Co) working for the Cedar  Talisman Mine in Milford He was age 27, single, born Kilkeel June 7, 1889 may be related to these Park City Cunninghams.

A biography/family history of Arthur Cunningham is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 3, page 1192. Parents: George Cunningham and Ellen Rogers, daughter of Thomas Rogers. Of their eight children, three emigrated to the US: Arthur (Montana), James (Bellingham, Washington), Mrs. Ellen O'Connell (Seattle, Washington).

In 1884, on a visit to his home in Ireland, Arthur married Miss Mary Ann Rogers, daughter of Arthur and Mary Rogers.  In 1886, they moved to California and later to Washington state. Mary Rogers Cunningham died in Washington and is buried in Goldendale, Klickatat Co., WA. Four children: Mary Ellen (a sister in a convent), George P. (in the sheep business in Argentina, S.A.), Catherine R. (Mrs. William Koth), Margaret (Seattle, WA).

On 27 Jul 1897, Chicago, IL, Arthur married Mary Ann O'Farrell, b. 1863, Parish of St. Catherine, Port Neuf, Canada, daughter of Michael and Mary (Landers) O'Farrell. Cunningham children: Arthur, Jr., Thomas Michael, Charles Alphonse.
